About our resources

We are a small charity with no paid staff, completely reliant on donations to fund our running costs. These can be high: our vets' bill for one month can come in at £1,100 or more. We are very sorry but we are unable to pay vets' bills for animals other than those in our care.

We are also sorry that we have limited capacity to take in all the animals that need our help. Our pens and foster-homes are always over-subscribed, and space can only be found when one of the residents moves on to a permanent home.

All donations of money, food and goods to sell are gratefully received. Please see elsewhere on this site for details of events and help needed.

Help needed

Foster carers wanted!

Hay Cat Rescue is a local, private, independent,  registered Charity caring for about 200 cats and kittens each year. We support our work with fund raising and donations.

To maintain this help in the future we need more foster carers.

We are looking for kind, caring, reliable, responsible and committed local people with time and their own transport to care for some of our cats in need. They will also need room on their property for a pair of pens or have a shed or similar that could be made safe and secure to house the cats or kittens while they are being cared for and waiting for their new home. Veterinary, food and litter costs will be covered as well as some expenses.

If you are able and willing to join us please call Kathie on 01497 821401.

Other help needed

Please consider joining our Membership list for £5 annually, payable on 1 January.  Click here for a Membership Form which you can print off and send to us.

We also welcome anyone who can donate some of their time during the year, for example to help with fund-raising, transporting cats to and from the vet, or our many other activites.  Please call Kathie on 01497 821401 for further details.
